I have been at my current company for almost 12 years. and I'm getting very burnt out. My brain doesn't function as well as it did a year ago. I've always loved and appreciated the company's culture, and I've needed flexibility due to a sleep disorder, so I'm afraid to look for a new job and start over.

I wish it would help to take a vacation, but my work just piles up, and then I'm even more stressed out.

Is it time I look for something new? I can't seem to recover from this burnout.

Sometimes I start looking for another job and it reminds me of why I appreciate the job I have. And sometimes I look for a job and end up finding a better job. 12 years is a long time to stay in one place, maybe you would be happier after a change.

I work for a company that provides TPA services to clients. About a few days before Christmas we were told the client we service has pulled our contract & our final day will be Jan. 30th. We were told in a Zoom meeting without any formal letter from HR as a follow up. We are now being told severance will not be paid until all equipment is returned (severance will not be included in our upcoming final pay day). Is this a common practice because now I have to scramble to figure out healthcare coverage (also ending Jan.30th) & filing for unemployment?
