Any one here from magneti marelli account?
Got a random email from a supposed Amazon recruiter for a SDE position (which is not at all a fit). The email is amazon.com domain and there are no red flags in the body but it doesn't feel like an Amazon recruiter due to the tacky signature, etc. Has anyone seen this kind of cold-calling from FAANG recruiter?

I have experienced similar situations. I am sorry you are dealing with this! Some things that have worked for me:
1. Treat your assistants as partners. The kids should not know who the teacher is and who the assistants are. They should be taught to respect and listen to all of the adults equally.
2. Have a discussion about being on the same page with expectations- everything from following routines, student discipline, and their roles and responsibilities should be clear to everyone.
3. Let them share their ideas and lead some lessons if they are interested in doing so. My assistants this year love to bring ideas for art projects and crafts. I tell them to go for it and give them a center to run during center time to work on their projects and ideas. They have some great ideas!
4. Acts of kindness: I regularly surprise my assistants by covering their lunch duties so they can have a longer break or bringing in a small treat to show appreciation for their work. Remember their birthdays and ask about how they are- they work harder for you if they know you care.
5. Be reflective in your teaching- if they have feedback for you about a lesson consider their thoughts and ideas. Maybe they do have a point or an idea that could make things even better. If not, they can learn from your expertise if you kindly explain the reason for what you are doing and why. Don’t take the criticism personally- try to take it constructively instead.
It takes a village to work with young kids. Your assistants are your team and it can make or break your school year. Making time to build a great team makes all the difference!
