I have to leave audit. I can’t keep up these hours as a mother. The firm is requiring more in office time. I don’t know where to go that has a comparable salary with better hours. I am a CPA. I am so lost.

Ask for a 1/2 time role and 75% remote work. You will save on daycare, dining out, and commute costs. You will be in a lower tax bracket. There will be no resume gap. All they can do is say “no”, which would be your sign to find another role. I did this to be available to my kids and only worked school hours. I am not a partner, and my salary is probably a bit low. However the trade off was worth it to me. Some weeks I work more than 1/2 and some weeks I work less. I have to be diligent or they will overwork me for sure.

This! I've been on a reduced schedule for over 10 years. I 100% would not still be in public accounting as a mom without my reduced schedule. (I know it works for some, but not me.) I've done as low as 60% and am currently at 80%. Yes, my salary is reduced to the same %, but I otherwise enjoy my career and have tons of flexibility.

My husband and I regularly attend (virtually lately) a church we love, however there’s not a great way for us to connect by way of a small group (We’re in our late 20s and I’d say the average age in our church is 50 so all the groups are geared towards parents with adult children, things like that). How do you find ways to connect outside of church?

Lyft driver delayed picking me up 30 min, resulting in me canceling my ride and asking hotel to call me a “yellow taxi” to get to the airport because it was 5am and all ubers/lyfts were 15 min. Specifically said yellow. Hotel calls me a private lux SUV and the driver got out of the car to handshake the man who called and said hi (honestly money couldve been passed). I then get hit with a $180 ride. Marriott website says taxi should be $65. Should I complain or let it go?
