Seal training isn’t supposed to be easy
Huge thanks @VP1 and @GS1. This morning I got to go to the gym, got some juice press, and am going to try and make a habit of healthy mind/body activities. My parents are both writers, and I was a lit major in college. I took this job for security and probably influenced by herd mentality. I don’t understand the numbers / analysis and generally feel that my background has less to contribute than a lot of the people I work with. As I don’t like letting people down who made efforts on their part to hire me, I’m going to stick it out as best as I can, but this advice and words of encouragement were definitely ameliorating at a time that I feel I don’t have the mental endurance for this crucible. Thank you again ✌️✌️
Yeah. That's right. We are saving the country or some such...
You need to prioritize. Not sure where you work but find time to squeeze in at least 30-45 mins in the gym 3-4 times a week. Also make sure you’re eating healthy keep some fruit at your desk and never be afraid to walk outside to get some fresh air. Use your weekends to get sleep relax and spend time doing things that aren’t work related. As for friends , early 20s post graduation you will definitely loose some friends as expected, life takes us all in different directions but for those that are really important and also make an effort to reach out to you try to plan things on the weekend mini trips add in FaceTime etc and try not to miss major life events weddings deaths etc . It’ll get better it always does
This job definitely isn’t for everyone. That’s not supposed to be a disparaging comment or a knock on you by any means, just a fact. You’re in your early 20s, you literally have your entire professional life ahead of you, if you want to pivot to something else you should.
In the mean time, do your best to take some time during the week to do activities that make you happy (I understand that’s much easier said than done). Also, talk to a shrink. I know there’s a negative connotation around that, but they really can help out.
As GS1 said, it’ll get better it always does
Just a couple months though? Cmon man
