This career is tough on the soul. It’s unpopular to say, but I think it’s particularly tough on women. That said, trial is an extraordinary experience. Your significant other must understand the enormous physical and mental toll of the process. I’m sure you will be back to normal soon, but the stress over time takes a toll on the body and mind.

Because it DRAINS you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Can you take a vacation?
Yes you’ll get back to normal. First, take time to rest, because trial is a very exhausting and draining experience. Then, slowly reintroduce intimacy as you feel comfortable. That might just look like cuddling or spooning in bed for a while.
I’m a transactional attorney, and it’s totally normal to feel down after a big deal closes. Your body is telling you that it needs rest, and you don’t have the adrenaline of the deal to keep you going. Give yourself some space and start with small things to rebuild your routine and connection.
After paying very very close attention to my cycle (thank you family planning), I noticed that in my immediate pre-menstrual cycle, my libido ticks WAY up, then basically crashes to zero. When I’m stressed on a deal (to the point my cycle is late), the zero libido point tends to be the point in my cycle where my body seems to “stall out”. Could it just be exhaustion?
I haven’t experienced what you’re describing but was able to heal from a trial burn out by sleeping 10-12 hours a night for 10 nights.
