Has anyone just taken a break from work without anything lined up? Every offer I’ve gotten wants me to start in a month and with 2 weeks notice that leaves me only 2 weeks to recharge. What do you do over your schools winter break? How long is it? I have almost 2 full weeks and I'm debating between doing a ton of prep or actually trying to relax. 2nd year teacher and last year was mostly virtual so I had more "free" time to get stuff together.

A parent of one of my students told admin she thinks it's irresponsible that I won't be grading over Christmas break. I let the students know to get any work they need graded in before the break and I'll get it to it during our workdays in January. Apparently that's not fast enough for her 🙄.
