Are there any large differences between a Strategy lead and Program manager positions? Looking to transition and in the process for a couple of roles. Mainly concerned about job role, longer term progression and internal mobility (will be moving countries in a few years). Speaking to the HMs and reading the job descriptions show very similar job responsibilities for the two roles. Coming in most likely as an L5 in the US

Has anyone left public accounting to do anything entirely different? Seriously considering a career change but not sure if I'll regret it.

Is it hard to boomerang back into consulting after taking an offer at a late stage tech startup? Previous experience at ACN and EY for reference and about to jump for a dream offer but just curious since I could hate it.

Considering a change from audit (SM) to an advisory role - looking at a Director position within Strategy, Finance and Accounting M&A. [Insert typical “should I make the jump” question here]. I’m 3+ years to audit partner and weighing options and exhausted by omnipresent inspection risk and how this impacts day to day (and presume it will continue to get worse). I was recently promoted, which I am really excited about. But not so exciting is that my bump in salary is really small. Much smaller than expected and I believe smaller than industry benchmark. Is there a way to politely broach the subject with my boss and ask for a larger bump? Or no? I don’t want to seem ungrateful because I love my boss and she really championed the promotion. I also don’t want to burn a bridge. But I also feel let down by the tiny pay bump. Any advice?

I am currently working in the final round of interviews for a job I think I’d enjoy for a $10k pay raise with far less stress than my current job. That said, it’s a step down from my current responsibilities and I’m nervous it’ll hold me back from my eventual goals.
