Don’t be worried. Catching up for a coffee doesn’t sound like a layoff.
Just ask in your invite response if there’s anything you should prepare ahead of time.
Sounds like someone you work closely with is maybe about to be fired for performance and HR is fishing for your feedback to either validate or challenge this path.
Yeah that doesn’t seem concerning to me
if it was you they wouldn’t have asked you tbh. probably someone else or your manager tho …
Not a layoff. They would have just asked for a meeting. This sounds like they are snooping..
In my experience, a “catch up” meeting with the CCO or HR/creative services is exactly what they say when they’re doing layoffs, but, my experience is also that this happens with very little notice, usually the invite or email shows up the same day as the meeting.
I wouldn’t be worried! Sounds to me like they want your opinion on something
This doesn’t sound like how a layoff or performance review would be conducted. As others have said, I’m guessing there’s some bigger situation or other person they want your take on in a more ‘informal’ setting.
Once I got more senior and head a team I started having regular checkins with HR. They’d ask me about flight risks or performance issues
Thanks everyone. The email got me on edge since my interactions with HR at this company have never been positive. When I asked for clarity they mentioned about "getting my thoughts on how things are going at the organization", which is still super vague. I also have talked to them on Slack before and have had virtual calls before so email and in person is weirdly formal.
Update: it was about back to office mandates and strong language on how 3 full days a week is "non-negotiable". So negative experiences from HR continue.
Are they valid personal reasons? Like would you have been able to get accommodations for them pre-covid when WFH wasn’t the norm?
