I don't think the film industry will be replaced by AI, but some parts of it may be. If you think about a lot of the lousy stuff that fills the streaming channels, you could replace that with AI stuff and the people who watch it may not care. I mean, if someone is expecting film on the level of Hitchcock or Scorsese or Kubrick, AI won't satisfy that audience. It would be interesting to know what Hitchcock or Kubrick might have done with AI in terms of using bits of it for particular shots. I don't know if anyone has asked Scorsese about it, he claims not to really understand email, so I'm not sure how he'd react.
I mean this is what the writers were striking about last year, I think it's entirely headed this direction. But after looking at the movies that have come out over the last few years, I kind of don't think the humans are making high quality content anymore either. And most of the big budgets go to just remakes of Marvel movies and make extremely rich people even richer. It's already a very broken system, I'm not sure AI makes it more broken
