Hi, I'm leaving Citi in 2 months. It's hard to make this decision. I have an offer from a small startup. In citi, my previous experience was not considered and was reskilled to different tech which is the reason for change.I don't like to exit citi. As I like the company so much. But considering my current knowledge,I am in the middle of the sea.I am afraid now that the new company's offer would be revoked due to this recession?Or can I take back my resignation in citi before the last working day.Is this wise decision?

Hi fishes! I volunteer with The Art of Good, a creative collective helping small businesses affected by the pandemic. They are seeking a little help from a media professional. Need an SEM POV for a small business looking to change their name and relaunch their brand. This is non-paid. More about giving back while in-between gigs. :) If you can help out or want to learn more, please reach out to me via LinkedIN. Thank you!! www.linkedin.com/in/karenkohn/

FT people have a silly bias against freelancers. They think you’ll jump at a better situation. That you’re shifty. They don’t want to look bad if you do.
Ultimately it just reveals an insecurity about their company. If the role is good and the company treats its employees well, wouldn’t anyone want to stay long term?

Maybe it’s different with creative roles. Unless your resume says 3 years 5 years 2 years etc, you’re a “risk” as I’ve actually been told in the interview process.
It reads as a red flag when the timeline is choppy (lots of sub‑6‑month engagements), titles jump around with no throughline, or the candidate can’t articulate why they left perm roles and what made them decide to come back to full-time now.
On the choppy timeline - what if all you could find was a series of short contracts? I'd personally find it hard to judge others for the worse right now at the rate companies are laying off
Me too! Freelance to Fulltime pipeline. I miss having benefits. 401k match. Bonuses etc. You can also take advantage of all the layoffs happening that will warrant freelancers because the work doesn’t stop. Especially in Q4/Q1. Good luck 🍀
I've been hiring PMs for the last 9 months (sorry, just filled our last role) but it's really helpful for me to be able to clearly see what roles were freelance vs full time so I can contextualize the experience. I also appreciate when a candidate tells my talent partner upfront that they've been freelancing (no reason needed) but are wanting to go back full time. One candidate did a freelance section and bulked their agencies and projects into that one section so it was less choppy - I didn't hate it. Beyond that, I think it's helpful to see that the full time roles were longer engagements (2yr-ish) if possible.
