Just give it some time to settle in (like 6 months at least). But yeah the higher up you move it’s more stressful. And then you just manage it. Everything is fixable and if something blows up the sun comes up tomorrow and everything will be fine. Can’t let it be debilitating. Care enough to do a really good job but not so much you can’t function. There is a healthy balanced level.

After 20 years and learning the hard way I just became more selective in my job searches. I value my health and my time more than a bit more comp so I learned how to identify roles that were clearly going to be much higher stress and regular OT. That was learned the hard way after multiple roles that burned me out.
Now, I have a good WLB (small OT here and there) and pretty solid comp for what I do. I'm only interested in future opportunities that would closely resemble my current harmony and offer better comp. With the way most companies are trying to squeeze as much as possible out of people that leaves a small window of opportunities moving forward.
That’s a reasonable take at the manager, senior manager, etc. level… but at the senior accountant level? I’d take a good look inward and consider if the profession itself is for you, or how you can better your mental (and physical?) strength so that you’re better equipped to handle the job.
