I recently joined a new organization after a career break. I expected a development, but the work is mostly support-based.I also wasn’t informed earlier that this would be a lead role with team management and client communication. Previous person worked for 3 years, and I didn’t receive proper KT before taking over.Because of this, I feel anxious and overwhelmed after my career break.Should I give myself more time to adapt or start looking for roles more aligned with development work?

Well KT are never there in most of the cases and since you joined new, you can express if you don't know something or ask from the team.learn and Give more time to adapt here. If things don't get streamlined in next 2-3 months, start looking out. But once you start knowing understanding things, the anxiousness drops.
Btw, which tech stacks are you currently working upon. Since you know the development, it shouldn't be hard to adapt to support. And it's a lead role, so what's your yoe.

As I joined lead I am getting lot of work for most of them I won't get help and need to handle 5 team mates work as well. I am currently working on Azure, pyspark, sql but thing is support role is all about enhanment work and also the person who is leaving work as an architect so they want me to work on architecture level. Its getting difficult for me and affecting my day to day life

I would say if you are getting calls then crack some other job and abscond. Life is too short to be a working mother and being not happy with your work.

You listen to me. You need to give no explanation. Not everyone can work like an ass or want to. If you are a woman then you have definitely more important things in life than to take care of some dumbos and managing things.I also avoided team lead roles and still doing because I can’t be available all the time. You leave this job and find a better one. There is always something better. Go to office and return the laptop and tell them i cant continue anymore.
