Anyone hearing noise about layoffs?
I recently joined TCS but I was moved into very different project which was told during hiring. Also they told me for joining incentive but later after 65 days of joining they didn't give saying your business aproval got rejected. I really want to be with TCS but due to project dissatisfaction, I am looking for different job. I am not sure if I can leave the organisation soo soon(4 months) and it should not effect my carrier.

That’s exactly what they want. Just kick the poors out and hope they vanish. The powers that be don’t actually care about helping people, they’re too busy worrying about trans people and banning TikTok to actually do anything helpful.
A lot, actually. We're a historically red state and now that we're swinging purple, we are starting to see the changes/decisions made over the last few decades come to light. And it's not all working for us, as is clearly the case with our homeless population growing.
You can only lead a horse to water. A lot of these people were living there because they were using drugs/alcoholics and didn’t want to use the services offered because they would have to sober up and get a job. When you stop enabling the lifestyle you’ll see fewer people living it.
In a free society they don’t have to change. If they want to live that lifestyle that’s their decision. However, that doesn’t mean we have to accommodate them, so they can either follow the rules (ie don’t trespass and/or do drugs in public) or go to jail, like everyone else in society.
The city is well aware of its housing issue. It understands that the majority of Phoenix residents do not have the income to afford apartments at $1200 per month. This is a blatant failure on the part of the city officials. Taking away the homeless belongings does not solve the problem.
And which party has controlled the city for decades 🤔
These issues can only be solved by income-based housing, job rehabilitation, veteran housing, drug rehabilitation, and proper mental health treatment. We often forget that these people are, in reality, humans. With their families, friends, and those who love them.
So what do we do when they refuse to participate in those programs?
This is true they really need to do something for the long term and not just the short term. We need actual change to help these people and nothing will get better until this is addressed.
People will split into smaller camps. It's just going to grow worse, and I can't think of a humane remedy. The drugs are more potent than ever, and many of these folks do not want to go to shelters.
The city gives information about numerous programs, yet the great majority of people do not want help. You can't compel people to accept help, and the mental illnesses that many of them suffer from certainly prevent them from doing so. It's a challenging scenario.
Unfortunately, every major city in the country has a homeless city. We're seeing the ugly beginnings of late stage capitalism ruining things, whether it's a tent city on the streets or a community of "mole people" living underground.
Putting a cap on rental hikes would help in stopping more homeless happening. I am a teacher and live paycheck to paycheck because my rent went up buy my pay didn't. Some people have accused me of "living beyond my means" but I do without just to be able to have a roof over my head.
I’d love to see them actually do something. Tiny temp homes, ANYTHING to give these people real shelter. And it’s right before summer…shame on them.
I’d vote for you!!
AZ does not care about the people who actually live here. Never have. All they care about is tourism $$ and aesthetics.
I'd disagree. The state used to and still does act like this in many cases, but in some areas it is being forced to start looking to citizens' needs now (e.g. water rights) if it wants to actually stay stable and attractive.
Yeah the economy is only going to get worst, I always think if I were in that position I would want to be treated like a human.
