I was laid off by my company at the end of 2023. They outsourced my team and only a few on the lower end of the pay scale were kept on.
A few weeks ago, I see the same position I was working available again. I applied and after a few rounds of interviews, got the job. A few of my old managers and coworkers are still there. As far as title, it is a step back from my current title but still pays more than my current job.

Onboarded me on a huge project (12 phase proj) with no KT, only gave docs to read from.
He was handling this proj till phase 4 but has completely withdrawn out without proper transition.
I can't make decisions as he overrides/turns them
I have 2yrs experience & it's now my onus to negotiate with PPL in VP,EVP position and also handle testing & dev team

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Can someone share your thought of how to deal with this situation. I am completely lost in terms of my mental health. Not able to overcome and accept this situation. I think this is right place to ask, as we all are going through the same.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞
