I've had some success with sending quick messages. If it's short and just one, I don't think it's obnoxious. It's their job to find a good candidate.
Recruiter here, I’d send a quick friendly message introducing yourself and the job order you applied to.
That way we can look into the specific job you applied for, cross reference your resume to see if you’re a match, and then follow up with you/the recruiters in charge for next steps.
If you’re a not a match then what I usually do is look up some roles we are hiring for that’re a match and share them with you to see if you’d be interested in applying to those.
You are a great recruiter it sounds like!!

I have premium and a lot don’t have them, it’s surprising!
OP - out of curiosity, what do you say to them? Just introduce yourself and flag that you applied and would love to chat?
