Should I be reaching out to recruiters and hiring managers after applying to jobs? I've mostly been applying through LinkedIn, so finding the right person isn't hard. I'm just afraid of coming across as obnoxious!

Industry vets - in your experience how recession proof is insurance? I was not yet in the job market last recession but I watched my mom get laid off and struggle to find employment during that time for the next 1.5 years. I was wanting to hit the job market towards the end of this year, but now I worry that if I do move companies, the recession could put me in position of last one hired first one fired. Is it better to stay put?

been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

I got offer of 148+ ,10k bonus from deloitte on sc role.I am currently on h1b.. currently on 102k and there will be increase in salary for us this year and some bonus.. I was not actively looking but now confused should I join.. looking work culture etc. Need suggestions.. thanks

I have an interview coming up with Church & Dwight. When the recruiter emailed me with 3 interview times I thought he was asking me what time works best. Turns out he was telling me I was scheduled for 3 different interviews for 3 different teams in one day. Has anyone heard of a company doing that or gone through this for an interview? I feel left out in my firm. How do I make 'friends' with my colleagues? I've been here for a year. I am naturally not a very out going person, was never 'cool' and I struggle to speak in group situations / make engaging conversation with higher ups. It is an important trait to have in this job and I just don't know how to do this. It makes me very upset - I even sought therapy but wasn't useful. I am a mechanical engineer having 10 years of experience in wind and automotive domain. Is it possible to switch to IT domain. Please suggest some course without or with basic codeing to get some IT jobs.

After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

The severance package at Meta for laid off employees almost makes it nice to be laid off depending on what your personal situation is….. personally wouldn’t mind getting 4+ months of full pay to reset and think about what’s next 😬

I’ve been lay off this afternoon because low performance, it just two weeks ago I talked to my manager and told her that she’s micromanaging me a lot and I need more autonomy at my work. Hi everyone. I was a solution engineer at Oracle. I graduated from college in May and this was my first job out of college so the lay offs were pretty rough. I majored in Supply chain management and I have 2 internships under my belt. Do you guys have any advice or tips on what to do moving forward?
