Volume doesn’t necessarily equal competition. Many applicants are unqualified or their resumes may not be as strong. Focus on roles where your fit is strong, tailor your applications/resume, and follow up with a real human when possible.
I feel your pain! I’m on every platform, had my resume professionally done. Had practice interviews. It’s tough out there!
I was laid off in January, and I remember seeing those 300+ applicant roles and thinking, ‘Why would they ever notice me?’ But what’s worked for me is treating each role like a qualified lead. I do a quick dive into the company, tailor my resume to the job description, and if I’m really interested, I send a short, direct message to the hiring manager or someone in sales leadership. A few times, that’s what got me a first-round interview, even for roles with tons of applicants.
There aren't a lot of jobs out there right now, so every possibility is worth it if you have the time. Don't rely entirely on linkedin though. Try to find work through your network, and apply directly on company websites.
Sorry to hear of your layoff. I know how frustrating/confusing it is to navigate the job market right after a dynamic change like that. There is still a chance your applications are being seen, but have you considered branching out to other job resources?
