What kind of money are people making in New York for Account Director roles? I have a bunch of healthcare and pharna experience.
Curious, does anyone have experience working for the same firm as their spouse? My spouse just got an offer to join a totally separate part of my company. It doesn’t seem like there is any actual optimization of benefits in this situation but I’m curious if I’m missing something.
I’m a senior with dreams of going in-house. The maternity leave at the firm is great so the plan was to have a kid before I leave, but of course we’re struggling to conceive. My matters are stale and I feel very disconnected from my group. I can see my mid-levels getting ready to step into my shoes. I guess I just feel like I should be gone, but I’m not, and it’s really hard I’m struggling with depression and burn out and going off birth control didn’t help. (cont)
My insurance benefits end the day of my last employment and my next job doesn’t start for an additional week. COBRA documents won’t come in for almost a month according to the company website. What happens if I get injured during that week? Am I completely screwed?
Anyone willing to give a PwC internal referral? I’m a lawyer looking to transition into health care compliance (bachelors and masters in biomedical sciences) and I currently litigate operational healthcare disputes. Thanks!
Which job would you choose given the two choices right now?
- VP at JPMC
- high performance, specialized IC role
- ~205k TC
- 4-week vacation and tons of benefits
- Back office role 35-40 hrs a week
- lots of learning opportunities
- smart, competent coworkers
- chill boss, who is empowering and giving a lot of autonomy
- way too many VPs to compete with, will not be easy to get to ED
- Could be more exit/external opportunities at ED level in 3-5 years

If I book a flight using miles for myself and my SO, will she get my benefits from status? Aka if I get upgraded, will they bring her with me since I got both tickets? Or leave her in th original seat
Does anyone have insight into A&M WLB, comp, benefits, etc they are willing to share? At a high level I get that the bonus is a portion of billable hours*bill rate* collection %, but any additional insight is greatly appreciated! Interviewing for a manager position in PEPI
Wondered why my paycheck was quite a bit more than normal and found out I maxed my 401k contribution for 2020. Hello nice paychecks for the next two weeks!
I’m currently interviewing for an AS role which would be a bit of a pay cut, but I’ll get to learn a lot so I’m interested. Any tips on how to approach the negotiation convo if/when that comes, besides asking to at least meet me halfway re:salary? They already provide unlimited PTO and free health benefits(which is nice).
I recently started working at a firm that does a lot of legal aid. In order to attract more private clients, they want us to go out and do speaking engagements and volunteer work (on our own time). Furthermore, they started asking us to consider doing per diem duty counsel work to bring up our receivables (aka- work as duty counsel and give them our pay). I was so appalled by this comment, I’m beyond livid. I became an associate so I didn’t have to go out and bring in business. (Cont.)
What to know when exiting? Best time of the month, things to settle, healthcare stuff, benefits, etc.
Good morning - I am about to take a new role as Senior Manager of Cybersecurity at EY. I was just wondering if anyone on here had numbers or data on the benefits of working your way into PPMD? I've heard it can be pretty nice pay and perks but I really have no idea. TIA!
I am starting a new job next week. What are the chances they will just push back my start date? I have to pay my rent and need health insurance.
Any benefits of giving a 4/5 week notice instead of 2?
I don’t want staffing to put me on something that I can’t finish

If you can make 38% more as an independent contractor for a year would you take it? You’d have to pay employment tax, fund own benefits and retirement accounts wouldn’t be matched. Why or why not?

Where are you now and where would you want to move and why? (If you want to move)
I feel like I am a "grass is always greener on the other side" person and I for example as European would love to spend some time in the US, I came across many people doing the move in the other direction, so I am curious to see different opinions from people growing up in different places.
Has anyone ever taken out a loan against their 401k? How does that process work? Thinking about taking out a small amount ($3-5k) to pay off the CC debt I amassed in college to save on interest.
Law360 reporting that net income for DC firms decreased year-over-year by 29%? Am I reading this right-is there a caveat? What are we, corporate in NY??
Hi everyone, I am trying to land an entry level role with a Big 4 consulting firm when I finish my degree. I am set to finish next December because I am going part time while I finish up my time in the military. Could anyone give me insights if it is too early to begin recruiting through the campus recruit cycle this fall? Will I be considered an off cycle recruit and if so when will those firms be willing to consider me for roles to begin in December of 2022? Thanks in advance.
Has anyone had success renegotiating pay while remaining in the same position? The last two years have significantly changed my local market and the less-than-inflation federal pay raises are not cutting it. I'd be seeking 3 steps within my current grade, but I don't know if my management even has a mechanism to make the change if they wanted to. I am aware of the Quality Step Increase, but I don't think that's the solution here.
What’s the best car enthusiast’s car (not necessarily a sports car) for a one-car Chicago situation? Defender? A last-gen manual BMW wagon? ~$60k budget.
What advice can people offer for someone that will be a new manager in the next couple of months? I know it’ll be a challenging time but, as someone that wants to stick in PA, what’s worked for you or what have your managers done that you like?
Trying to keep this constructive but understand that complaints can have some value.
What’s the range for Account Supervisor salaries in a mid-level market like Richmond, Atlanta, Portland, Kansas City, etc ?
Football star murders someone then takes his own life while in prison. What a tortured soul he must have been. Mental and emotional health still not a priority. RIP.
Hello BAs what are you all doing to improve your work products and stakeholder experience in these covid times
What do you wish you had known about litigation before joining the practice? I’m considering a switch from M&A and want to have a fuller picture of what to expect.
