I work brand side and have a bit of a strange (to me) situation. We hired an small company to concept and manage production for a social shoot. They are managing payment for the photographer/crew. Their photographer sent me (the brand) a contract and COI request to cover the shoot. In my experience, either the company or photographer would need to show us a COI. Has anyone encountered this type of situation? Is this normal?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. What are your thoughts on pay discrepancies based on family structure? Ex. Two people do the same job but one is paid more or given a larger bonus “because they have kids and you live alone” or “because their family is struggling”. Seeking advice: I’ve been working as an analyst at a PE company for 18months 4 days a week on a part time contract and I feel like they are under paying me. I’m earning 42.2K p.a They want me to go full time as I am graduating however I don’t know what the base salary for an analyst with 18 months experience would be. Hi, I’m currently unhappy at my current FT job and looking to go freelance with 4 yrs exp. Seeking any advice about how to transition /how much more prod coord exp one needs before being a producer.

Are there any online courses or resources that can help expand my knowledge of TV copyright information and anything more on the legal side of things? My internal video team is heavily leaned on for that type of info and do know a fair amount but I'd like to be more prepared all around. Google/tapping Producer friends is only relatively helpful.

We do have a lawyer that we can meet with but they're also not an expert and turnarounds are always very long so not as helpful as I'd hoped.
