Hello, I recently stopped pursuing a PhD degree and am looking to start a consulting career. I'm seeking an entry level position in strategy/analytics or business transformation. I did my undergrad and masters in top 10, but don't have much professional experience yet. It seems like I'm quite late to the game at this point and have limited access to recruiting info. Hi All, Prior to my final round I received a mail from KPMG HR requesting my last 3 months pay slips and Aadhar, PAN, graduation degree and filled Candidate Application Form. After that I gave my final round 2 days back i.e on Friday & it went really well. Later I didn't receive any communication on whether i am selected or not. Is it a good sign?

Any advice on how many slides a ~15min tech interview presentation should be? I know there’s no perfect number but is like maybe 8-12 slides good enough? Context is this is for higher up like we’re talking Directors+ and they’re very smart in tech with phd’s.

Two recruiters have told me that specific major national firms refuse to interview any current or former employees of the firm I work for. is this a big problem or something usual for firms? Panic set in and I’m worried I won’t find decent employment. Current role is underpaying and workload is unmanageable with zero sign of improvement.

Any Chicago strategy internships still open? I was pretty far into the interview process at a few agencies but they dropped me cold.

Had 3 rounds of interviews for a job that starts in January. So i checked in with the recruiter and now she wants to schedule a “call” next week. What does that mean? Would they tell me I’m not getting an offer?

Do people still do reference checks? Seems like a useless exercise. Any thoughts? I am interviewing candidates and don't seem like I am going to glean much from a 15 minute call with a stranger, hand selected by the candidate. I mean that is what I always did when asked for references. If I am wrong, please let me know.
