I work in M&A tax with a CPA (experience of roughly five years). At what point does the pay gap close compared to someone with equivalent experience and a JD /LLM? Does it ever close?

Yes. Has it not closed in 5 years? I would think it would have by then.

Probably once you get a JD. Why would the pay gap ever close?

You'll probably need to have to jump firms to have that delta shift. At the same firm, that delta will not shift.

I know people like to say that it closes, but it never really does entirely until K1 level.

It becomes less of a factor the higher you go but there’s pretty much always a gap all else equal (ie over the entire portfolio of M/SM, JDs will make more; individual circumstances can vary)

Need info on SAP Job titles/levels at Microsoft, Out of Desperation during Covid I joined Deloitte as a Consultant (one level above an entry level Analyst) with 5 YOE. Microsoft is offering me a position of Software Engineer.
