And that’s why I left M&A.

Sorry to hear of your experiences. Sometimes you just gotta go to a firm where you are the go-to associate so you there's nobody else at your level to take away opportunities.

like

Are you actually saying you’ve been discriminated against?

Nah but that’s professional services for u, better buckle up

How much have you heard of Account Managers making at companies in the tech space? I'm thinking about leaving my market research company.

I am told that CSM is not a sales job (so not commission based) yet you are expected to respond to targets. Can you please explain the difference and whether there still is an element of pressure with hitting your targets?

I’ve been dabbling with the idea of getting into copywriting as something to soon the side but I have no experience doing it. What steps should I take (books to read, gigs to start with or pursue, etc) if I want to go from $0 and next to ) experience to $40k or so a year?

Right now I’m currently unemployed and taking a break from my fine art stuff to try to get back into tech sales, but I was looking to expand my skill set and also generate extra money at the same time.

27F, 2nd year associate (no ambitions of being partner) - I’m depressed, anxious, stressed and just need a break. I’m at the point where I’m willing to quit with no other options, but want to see if theirs any safer way of taking a breath of life and grinding a little longer (I have loans, I financially support my parents, etc. ).

2012 Sr Associate. Left my firm in February after being recruited by a partner I used to work for, and it turns out I’m not very happy. Difficult people, terrible schedule and ruined vacations so far. A partner at my old firm in another group has asked if I would come back to work for just him. I liked working for him, we have great rapport and I could do permanent WFH since he is in another city. I don’t want to burn bridges, would this be a bad idea? Or an easy decision?

Any NYC big law firms heard anything about target hours being prorated this year? My firm has 2K target that was cut to 1800 in 2020 for Covid. So far no word on whether it will happen again, given that we’re still remote and challenges WFH (especially for associate parents) are still the same.
