If I got an offer like that I'd definitely take it. It's quite a salary bump. I would caution against feeling too much guilt, companies will lay us off in an instant and think nothing of it. Sad to say, loyalty has become a quaint concept in business.

Yeah, that’s exactly the tug-of-war. The guilt is real, but so is the reality that companies make business decisions without emotion. Fair pay matters.
Your current job owes you nothing, and will let you go in an instant. If you have a better offer, it is detrimental to your long term career growth to NOT take it. Take the job, give two weeks notice (not required, but it is the right thing to do), and thank the current company for all of the opportunities they have given you.
Taking the position does a number of things. It shows you are growing in your career, it tells your current job what the market is doing, and you get more money. NOT taking it does a number of things, as well, none of which are very good for you.

Totally agree. The guilt is real, but at the end of the day it is a business decision. Growth and fair pay matter, and loyalty rarely goes both ways.
Hell yes I’d take it. Especially if it didn’t incur other costs (like having to move, or if it meant my partner would need to find a new job, etc).

Totally agree. If nothing else in life has to shift, it’s hard to justify saying no to being paid fairly.

If someone offers your company that they can work for your company for less money with same results, I guess you company would taken it right away so why not taking that offer for more money?
