Typically from the whole holding company. That info is kept somewhere and will appear in the system if they go to hire you.

Agreed with AD1. You're probably blacklisted across the whole holding company. If it doesn't take long to apply to the open role, I guess it can't hurt, but I wouldn't be optimistic.

Yeah you’re cooked. They keep that on file if it was a firing vs a layoff. It also does truly depend on the “bad reason”.
I lawyered up against a network a few years ago when I was laid off, and I will never work for them because that definitely got me on the red flag list. The only thing I’m aware of that gets you off the list is a wild award streak.

I wouldn't be quick to assume that information has disseminated throughout a large organization. However, they may call someone and ask about you, and if the reason was exceedingly bad that could be a problem. On the other hand, if it was something that indicated you were immature and you may have gotten beyond whatever the issue was, you could be viable. Might as well apply and find out.
