If you had the choice, would you go back to school and would it be to further your current career? I’ve always wanted to go back to school, but now I’m thinking it may be a good idea to expand my area(s) of study ti accommodate a changing job landscape

With all of the advances in AI and the bringing in of AGI, school may very well be a waste of money. People I know with 8 year degrees are already being replaced by AI. By 2030, there will be very few jobs left for people. This includes doctors, attorneys, customer service associates and a ton more. They are seriously looking to build more labor ready robots for retail and beyond each year than automobiles, starting in 2027. These robots will do pretty much anything humans do in retail, law and the medical field right now. They will do surgery and research law. They will be the best attorneys money can buy. The will be precision surgeons unlike anything we have ever seen.
Most any job that has a person behind a keyboard and a mouse will be be replaced by AI well before 2030. We have gotten ourselves into a mess that we may never recover from.
I would be hesitant to spend money on anything right now that will not prosper you in the future. Do a little research on the chips Elon Musk is working on. The whole world is about to undergo a major change in the next 4 years. College is truly going to become a pointless waste of time very soon. It seems outlandish. But it also seemed outlandish that cars would replace a horse and buggy in the late 1800’s. But it happened in a very short period of time. School is something I would hold off on for the time being. Research it for yourself. I’m not telling you what to do. Just look into it before you spend a lot of money that you will never make back. Best of luck to you!

This definitely puts it into perspective. Everything here is very much so true and I will take heed. If there is anything I’d go to school for, it would definitely be for something that will benefit me in the future as far as the job market and what that future will look like.
