Is Risk Assurance still hiring? IT Audit Senior Manager here. Love my current company but I am severely underpaid (been at the company too long). Looking for potential referrals. Not in a rush to jump ships but open to considering.
Any fish with experience moving to an internal, non-consulting role with their firm and have an opinion on making the move now? Would be promotion (which I am unlikely to get in my area of the org due to freezes) but very aware of the old adage “if it’s not billable, it’s killable.” No layoffs yet and no pressure for me to move out of consulting, but this may be an option to level up and maybe have a better exit in 18 months. Thoughts?
I make around 135 base with ~20k bonus. I’m mid twenties with a masters degree. I work in a data science role, back office regulatory function. As times goes on a foresee layoffs in... cont’d
Received interview with a boutique for the level below what I applied. Somewhat in the middle for qualifications but want to apply to the more senior role. Recommendations on how to proceed? Call HR?
One year into sell side equity research out of UG and beginning to think restructuring/turnaround might be a better long term career fit. Still have time before I get pigeon-holed into my role/coverage, but wondering if a move is better in the short term or potentially after MBA. Not sure of the pre-MBA prospects out of A&M/Alix/FTI either in that space. Hard to find info on moving from one niche-ier space to another so any help would be appreciated!
I’m thinking about applying for an internal position in a different office. When and how would be a good time to ask about salary? It’s in a much higher COL city and I’m not going to waste my time if they’re not going to account for that.
Is there value in being an Analyst, if I ultimately want to end up in brand strategy? Currently in Account and it seems like a lot of consumer insights analyst roles overlap with tasks in a junior strat position (research aspect). Would love to hear your thoughts as I'm hoping to make a smart career jump :).
Would you leave consulting for a role in project/ program management? Why/why not? Trying to understand what industry roles are most suitable to our ultra-diverse (🙄) skill-set.
Is there supposed to be a process to determine if a project is a good fit? Feeling as though my firm regularly throws people onto engagements who have skillsets unrelated to what the role demands
Anyone hiring a senior level analyst? A good friend of mine was just furloughed. He’s brilliant, 20+ years of experience, clients love him and coworkers adore him. Most importantly, he’s smart as hell and has a knack for bringing data to life and is a strong strategist.
Contemplating an exit to a startup. Haven’t yet gotten offer details, but I have no doubt that I’ll need to take a pay cut. The work seems great, but I’m in NYC and have a high COL. Worth it?
Leaving for an industry position in 3 weeks. 3 years at my firm and first job out of college. What should be on my to do list?
Is it possible to exit to a fully remote position? Want to travel the world a work remotely for a couple years
Anyone in it audit exit to a non it audit role (e.g. project manager, business analyst, operations) What do you do and was it a hard transition?
Hi FB! I’m looking to fill a Sr. Account Director role. It’s a boutique agency based in NYC, but remote is ok as we’re all remote at the moment. Luxury car experience is a plus!! Please DM me if you’re interested or know anyone who might be!
With so much uncertainty in the industry right now would you rather accept a “Contract to Hire” position working in-house for a huge retailer/e-commerce company or a full time position at an ad agency?
Anyone have Anthem PPO and has insurance covered an IUD? I just want to see if there was anyway I could find out my out of pocket cost for it?
Any insight on Brownstein Hyatt in Denver? Looking to relocate and wondering about the firm's culture and work environment, and where they stand on taking on people from outside of CO.
Anyone else have a terrible attitude about PA after being so fired up as an intern? I feel like I’m not alone when I say I absolutely hate audit with a fiery passion.
Dear Hollywood, please refrain from making movies where America saves the world. We failed miserably at handling a pandemic ( copied )
Fishies! I’m looking for junior to mid level copywriters in LA, NYC, Austin and Miami. Super hot agency with amazing vibe and culture. Hit me up with your book if you’re interested in a perm-to FT position. For the rest of the year to see if we’re a good fit.
Stuck in a tough place, former client and I hit it off during the pandemic. Text every day since March, facetime once a week. She even says she likes me. But, I’m unlikely to be back close with her until at least next summer because of work and visa (currently abroad). Also applying to grad school for next fall and might be far from her. How should I play it out? I’ve actually found I really like her and we’re compatible
Just bombed a case interview for FP&A position. Is it normal for FP&A positions to have case interviews? I had one day to prepare and had no experience with them at all
Has anyone switched to a standing desk? Do you feel more productive? Was it worth it? Did you switch at the office or at your home?
I’m ready to leave the industry... any advice on how to make the jump elsewhere??... brand/client side... startup.. etc.
Book Title: Tested To Death Book Idea: A dive into how copy testing is completely killing our work and (contrary to client belief) has no correlation to real effectiveness.
Question about expensive mileage while traveling. If you are in a city (greater than 100 miles from home office), do you still subtract out your normal office commute mileage on a daily basis?
I’ve been working for a shitty manager for the past 4 months on an engagement. Today I walked in flipped him off and left. There goes my referrals but god damn does it feel good to be with PA
