Id wait for a severance offering or make a request if they fire you. I wouldn't just quit.
Don’t quit! Screenshot the listing and put it in your back pocket as proof of retaliation
You should start looking for a new position. First, it is always easier to find a job while you have a job. Even if you stay at this job long-term, you will probably not be happy because you were always going to think that you were treated unfairly. Second, Rather than immediately assume that you are going to be terminated or that the posting was intended to replace you, I would take take a picture of the posting and then ask your employer about it. Do you have an HR department? If so, go to HR. If you do not have an HR department is there someone above you that you trust and respect? If so, go to that person and ask them about the situation.
If you really love where you are working, then trying to resolve this issue and any misunderstanding or situation is the best option. Even if you decide you want to leave, by addressing this situation, head on in a respectful professional manner, you will potentially make the work environment, more tolerable for you while you are looking for a new position.
If the issue is telework, think about it from your employer perspective. Is it reasonable for you to be gone? How does this affect others on your team or department? Do you have documentation from a physician that you need this accommodation? Maybe a discussion with your employer after considering this information will help resolve any misunderstandings or clear up the situation so that you can continue working there.
