My previous employer.. I had to do it loudly and boldly.. We came to discover we had policies that were not inclusive for Transgender employees (employee housing/roommate gender rules). I essentially had to break existing policy and just make an empowered decision and then tell the company after the fact. It forced important conversations on the subject and forced us to catch up with current times. Since then the company has made incredible strides on DE&I in all areas.
