I suppose I might miss some of the people I work with. But that would probably be it. There is not a lot to miss when you leave the retail game lol.

I do miss the customer interactions on one hand, but in another I don’t. It could get exhausting and overwhelming at times
It's a double edged sword. I miss the social aspects of the job - constantly building a little social network with vendors and customers to build good rapport for the company, make connections to help with the job, while securing regulars you'd be in sync with on a daily basis for sales/orders. At the same time, the absolute BURN OUT from so much social demand, stressful interactions, and overwhelming multiple requests from customers and vendors at the same time will not be missed. It's a tough field to maintain work/life balance.
I do not miss staying hours after we closed to clean the store. People used to come in and just wreck the place. I do miss the customer interactions though. I don't get as many customer interactions in my new role.

I think a lot of people miss the camaraderie and the weird shared humor that only comes from surviving those shifts together. What they do not miss is the unpredictability, the rude customers, and feeling like their whole schedule belongs to the job. There is nothing wrong with moving on and still appreciating what it taught you.
