McKinsey & Company Has any industry experienced candidates pivot to MBB Engagement Manager before? My roommate works at FAANG as Senior Analyst (Ops, 6+ YOE) and was approached by McKinsey & Company recruiter for an EM role. He hasn’t done consulting before. Would this be too much of a risk? His goal is to pivot to PE S&O eventually.

I used RPA to pick flax in runescape back in the day
Not a bubble per say but the cloud of mystery and mystique around it will fade and it'll become something clients can do themselves without consultants
A lot of people in my group are doing RPA but I personally think it is a bubble.
RPA as technology isn’t going anywhere. I wouldn’t be surprised if BP, AA, UiPath start getting bought up in near future
I wouldn’t say bubble. As GT1 mentioned RPA will replace a lot of low level jobs with little value. It’s also good for quick wins, but often serves as a “bandaid” until more robust changes can be made (upgrading to a better platform). It is best for companies that use multiple sources and applications. It can be a valuable resource for AI (leveraging AI to make decisions and triggering RPA to carry out the appropriate action).
8-9 million accounting low level jobs will be lost to RPA. So make sure you move up or move out.
Well u know myTE is big on RPA? That's how they audit us so fast.
I agree with KPMG1 it’s 1990s technology
I always think of RPA as a poor mans API. After working with BP if becomes so abundantly clear that the whole tech is being overhyped. Any minor change to the client’s systems and the whole RPA solution will need reworking.
