I don’t think there is an age limit. A fit 39-50 year old will look a hell of a lot better in those items than a fat 22 year old.
The only limit I set is no cheap fabrics/low quality anymore. At 41 I think anything Forever21-esque looks a bit pathetic.
^Agree 100%
Nah. I’m a decade older and I wear what I want. If you feel young and stylish, just be young and stylish.
I would think it's more about what's feel comfortable wearing, but as someone who is 37, I can tell you I personally don't wear crop tops or ripped jeans anymore (I'm a size 6).
Depends on where I’m going, but I’ll be 45 this year and I go to music festivals wearing baggy cargos and cropped sleeveless tops. But I mean, I’ll also cover all my tattoos and wear a button up and pencil skirt to a business meeting.
I am 38 and I just started wearing crop tops after years of yelling myself that I couldn’t pull it off. I love them and I don’t plan to stop wearing them any time soon.
that stuff just sounds like the common casual wear of this decade, not something terribly youth-coded. “rules” about dressing by age are pretty outmoded, most clothing is aligned with an era rather than an age group. ifl you’re fine unless you’re constantly surrounded by friends wearing the complete eileen fisher collection 🤷♀️🤷♀️
And dressing by size!

I’m young looking and around your age and I think it looks fine. If I didn’t pass for 30 I think it might look odd but who cares
Absolutely not. There are plenty of 40+, 50+ models, athletes, actors, and regular people out there wearing a crop top. It’s about place (not even a 20 yr old should wear a crop top in a corporate office) and style, not about age.
Wear what you feel comfortable. It’s all in your head.
Wear whatever you feel confident in! If you’re feeling unsure, try out some other styles and see if that helps. Though don’t stop wearing anything because of your age, ever. Don’t feel like you have to blend in and disappear because you’re getting older. Life is short, enjoy the little things like having fun with expressing yourself.
Rising Star
As long as you’re not wearing it in a 2010’s style and have an updated look it can definitely be worn by all ages.
Dressing by size & body type matters more than dressing by age. I’ll keep you all posted when I launch my fashion YouTube channel & bootcamp. 🙃 blog is being worked on as we text.
