I’m a digital product designer with some background experience doing very basic coding like JavaScript, but I am definitely not a dev. I ordered a Playdate (play.date) and am looking forward to trying to make a game for it with my daughter. What’s the best place to start learning basic coding for making games? Assume I know nothing. Anybody else excited about the Panic Playdate?

NFW- I just had a good laugh. Earlier today I was on a video conference call reviewing a Private Label Agreement template with a larger company who wishes to brand label products we develop and manufacture. We came to a very one-sided provision and my sales VP stated “for this one, how can we just say ‘hell no’ ...nicely?” The other person on the call said we can replace the wording with just NFW (no f@$* way) and I said “I will have to add that to the defined terms section so it’s clear”

I’ve been doing autocad design for 5 years now, and though it’s cool, it’s not what I want to do with my life. How can I break out of this and into game design? I find creating stories, monsters, characters, levels, maps, etc infinitely more interesting than utilities underground.
