Today was the first time I felt excited in my current project. That’s because it’s a crisis, fire drills left and right etc and i had to move fast. I realized I don’t like my role, I like crisis
CMV: The era of traveling consultants is over. Yes, life will go back to normal and travel will be safe again, but not until enough time/experience has passed for consulting firms and clients to realize the weekly on-site travel is unnecessary. Limited travel will still exist and maybe more at senior levels. Regional/local travel will be the norm. Consulting will remain a popular career starter for exit opps and continued high pay, but not for travel/expense perks.
Which presents better opportunities (better pay/mobility/ exit ops) in the long run - public accounting private company assurance or financial analyst at a F500 bank?
For those who dont have a finance background, what is necessary to transition into a corporate finance or financial consultant role? Was thinking maybe MBA, but unsure if that's the most cost effective route.

Hey guys need some advice - I am interested in Product Manager or Technical Project Manager roles and trying to see if I would be a good fit. I have been in tech consulting for 10 years and my experience has primarily been in QA, Business Analysis and been a functional lead/Product Owner for last two years. Current role is focused on the product, roadmaps and managing a scrum team. Also involves managing cross team dependencies, release, multiple stakeholders and priorities...
What’s the best way to get a corporate strategy and development role in nyc? I’m currently a west coast strategy manager
I’ve been working in personal tax ever since joining a public firm. When I look at exit opportunities in industry, all of them required full cycle accounting. I’m interested in going the controller route (grow within a company kinda thing) so I looked at my network and connected with a smaller public accounting firm where I could work as a senior accountant doing reviews and NTRs. Would this experience get me full cycle accounting knowledge?
Moved to a new city and like it but can’t get motivated to network for new gigs. Gotten some referral gigs but I’d rather walk into the ocean than take recruiter & CD meetings. Why? (1/2)
Art director curious about the transition from advertising to branding and a true designer role. Any tips / thoughts / opinions? Grad school? Any expertise, experiences, or opinions appreciated 🙏🏼
Thinking about changing my talent segment and role. What’s the process of changing your TS/R? When do you get approved? Does your TFS let you know if your application was rejected?

Any hotel recommendation for DC? Either Marriott or Hilton is fine, but I’d consider boutiques too if they’re worth it. Wife and I are planning to see the usual monuments and museums over Labor Day.
Thinking about applying to Peace Corp for next year. Is this crazy in this juncture in my career to consider?
How did you develop mentor relationships with partners? I lateraled as a 5th year and don’t think I’ve made a single mentor at my firm in the last two years. I did have a solid mentor at my old firm.
Boss just told me to stop working on the only matters I have. Is this the eventual road to being laid off?
New day new exec order - visa interview waiver to be discontinued. H1 renewals to become lengthy and potentially screwed. Beautiful
I recently moved to a new company. As I get access to all the systems, I noticed that I have access to HR function (peers, managers) data within the HRIS system and other sources. I am not planning to look at the data but I'm concerned that peers can see my compensation, etc., if I can see theirs. At the company I came from, HR data was extremely safeguarded and restrictive within our systems. Is this something I should bring up to my manager?
Curious, how do you folks structure your job hunt? E.g. Wk 1-4 interview prep, wk 5-8 networking, wk 9-12 apply to jobs? (Cont’d)
