I’m a good strategist who is not fast at making nice looking decks. It’s impeding my work flow because people want to review things in a polished state. How do I get better / faster at deck design?

Unfortunately, it’s a muscle / skill like any other that develops over time. But one of the top things you can do to help your decks look more polished, more quickly is be ruthless about font integrity, alignment of shapes / text boxes / imagery and staying in the right color scheme for the brand you’re working on.

Slide composition is also a big thing I push with my team. In most cases, less is more - give your work room to breathe. Can you make your headlines tell the story, without becoming a three line run-on? Can you focus the viewer’s eye on two or three key stats vs a laundry list? Super small things IMO, but hugely helpful to make a big impact.

Lastly, don’t be afraid to rinse and repeat when you find a slide format that works! Build yourself a little library of slides that you like visually, and use that deck as your jumping off point when you need quick inspo.

No need to reinvent the wheel. Start with templates that you like and adjust from there.

Agree with getting a few slides set up the way you like them and continue to use and adjust from there.

Remember less us more with presentations. Avoid overfilling your slides. Focus on bullet points, small nuggets of information, and use visuals purposely so that they reinforce the slide topic (not as purely decoration).

These tips will go a long way long way in increasing your speed and producing professional polished decks.

Has anyone had success with ai deck building apps? I’ve tried gamma but it doesn’t work as well as I’d like at taking direction.

It’s not great yet.

Hello, in my previous organisation I worked in development domain (Oracle IAM Tool and Java)and my post was software Engineer, i joined Wipro as project Engineer in April 2022 and was assigned non technical project as an analyst.

I fought my way hard to get released from the project. However my designation is changed as Analyst. Should I ask for change in designation as I know that analyst is non-technical profile? Would my designation impact my future role as well?
