I wish I could prioritize WLB. Not an option for me right now though with how expensive things have gotten. I have to hit 40 hours minimum to cover my bills and take as much overtime as I can.

I completely understand because I was once there but it all depends on your lifestyle. At one point, I had to work over 40 hours a week just to cover bills until I transferred jobs. Work/life balance is so important for my mental health.
Need the WLB. I work part-time, and then the rest is flexible side gigs that I can do when I choose. Working 40+ hours a week wasn’t worth the paycheck. I can still get by and not feel like I’m just living to go to work.

Yes… I am trying to reduce my hours as well somehow. I’m glad I’m not the only one that’s doing this. For my mental health, I need to be able to control how I make money and not depend on too much of company I work for. I’m applying to more contracted independent work this year.
Pro
I prefer work life balance over more pay. I have worked at higher paid jobs but it ruined my mental health and this is where I realized, work life balance is more important.

I never had a chance at working a job that pays me more to the point I didn’t want to work for them because of my mental health. I always prioritized my mental health and work life balance over a high paying job,
