I'm only 3 months into my first sales job, and I absolutely despise it. I've tried learning, but I still have zero results, and the thought of daily cold calls and rejection makes me miserable. I want to quit every day, but if I leave now with no success, I'll feel like even more of a failure. Is 3 months too early to quit a job I hate and am so bad at, though? But if I force myself to stay, how can I possibly improve at sales when I feel so ineffective?

Sounds like you're carrying a lot right now, and I am sorry for that. Sales is hard, but being unemployed it's hard too. I would start quietly looking and applying, then not even mention this job when you find another one. If you have the money and support to just leave the job, then do what your heart feels right.

Three months is just the beginning. If you're open to coaching and you’ve got even a small support system, you can grow fast. But if you’re totally miserable and drained every day, it might not be the right fit, and that’s okay, too.

Bro sales grinding is real today I had an interview they told me first 3 months 18dollars after that 16 and if I make 100k a month they divide 60-40 then commission come from 40k which is 2k the 33percent go to tax i get 1325 or something lol....that 5% profit for their worker....and it's an must that you have to work every weekends a months only get 4 hrs sick leave that's all.....so before leave the job if basic pay is average stick and search for better maybe tech sales or do some certification....I have 16 years experience in sales just started my interview practice so yeah it's fun.

Stay and network as much as you can. 3 months is too early imho. Keep grinding.

If you know you don’t like cold calling or don’t like dealing with rejection or taking it personally, there’s probably a better fit for you. Apply for other jobs and stick with this in the meantime while you’re working on your next step.

I was in this position when I started my last job. I hated sales.

If you don’t think there’s another position in that company opening up that you may be considered for that you’d enjoy, you may want to leave.

Luckily, I was able to switch positions to one I loved. Unfortunately I’ve since resigned bc of the culture at the company, inability to negotiate salary or perks, and continuous staffing concerns, but I really loved my job.

3 months is too early to quit anything unless you have no other option. Stick it out for 6-12 months and then transition into a BDR or Renewal sales role so that you don’t have to cold call.

What are you selling? The hardest thing about starting out in sales is that most people are mentally thinking about themselves and how much they would like to sell/make etc, so when you face any kind of rejection or cold streak, it hurts the ego and the wallet.

Shift your mindset into “who can I help with my product?” And then go find people who need your help. The best way to do this is to develop great questions (always business/industry specific) for the prospects you speak with. They should be open-ended discovery questions that allow them to talk and tell you their problems.

Hopefully those problems are something that your solution can fix. If not, no worries move on to the next.

Commission based sales isn’t 90% mental and 10% skill. If you believe you can your correct, if you believe you can’t your also correct. Change your mindset and practice mental toughness, example stop saying your being rejected. That’s personal and walking around all day feeling like you were rejected must be a terrible feeling. These people like you, they are just saying know to your offer because they don’t know what they don’t know. It’s our job to push past the first 3 no’s as they aren’t real.

I'm in monaqo since 5yrs, I just got promoted with 52% hike from 12.5LPA to 19LPA(18Fix,1V) and increased NP to 90D from 45D. Every year I get hike betwn 20-25%.
Now got offer from freshmenu(product based) giving only 25% hike(24Fix,0V) but ready to wait 90D NP. They are saying - I already got good hike, no budget, your NP is high and we are considering only fixed part.
So in dilemma to stay for yearly hike or to leave because of 90D NP which will make difficult to get another job

Guys, I possess 8yrs experience in technical field/software development. I have done B.tech from tier-3 college & have worked mostly in service based MNCs.

I would like to know what would be the path if I would like to move to VP(technology)/CTO role in the long run.

As I have not done PG & even graduated from tier-3 college, are there any additional courses which can boost & add value to my profile?
