Experienced hire. Put interests on resume or no?
A BCG recruiter ghosted me after she reached out to schedule an interview. How long should I wait before following up? What is the common courtesy to give to ppl at BCG. I don’t wanna come off as too aggressive but I really need to get this interview set as there are other pending confirmations Boston Consulting Group

I am in same boat as you. Very competitive world outside. With current AI, it is even more. I am 9 years experienced as well and a mother of 2 year old. I began preparing for a switch in Jan. I attended first interview in March mid. I have attended 8 interviews so far, couldn’t clear any. I can study only when I am working, i cannot find any time outside of work. Getting frustrated and demotivated day by day 😒
I pray all the women in the comment section get whatever they are working towards. Power to all of us ❤️
Amen
I would suggest if you made up your mind to switch then just do the bare minimum at work. Take breaks in between and random leaves and use that time to prepare for interviews
If you work at Jpmc then I believe u r already smart...just you are lacking confidence...just do practice and start giving interviews..it will bosst your confidence
Not every company asks complex dsa problems .. it’s more in fang.
Simple ones you need to practice a bit and you’ll get them. Try in other good companies of Jpmc level
Then you need to definitely work for it. DSA is non negotiable there even though AI is there now, you cannot get into faang without solving complex DSA scenarios.
Outsource your household chores and use that time for interview preparation
Get help for household chores if the job is very important for you. I know, not every work can be done by the maid but you will save some energy. I am also trying to upskill but I get very little time, but managing it with 2 kids. You have to help yourself and remember it's not mandatory for you to do the household chores alone. If it's not happening, just leave it. Keeping the house clean everyday will only make you a maid 😑
Then my dear you’re just overthinking. Stop it and start putting in the work, no cribbing only efforts.
I am also in the same boat, I am trying to switch since Jan, first of all interview calls are very minimal just 1 in 2 months, and haven’t cleared any of those interviews. I also work in Investment banking firm and now project is becoming very tight schedule. Since I have kids who are small not able to work beyond 6pm even though I need to since it is US based firm. I really need to switch to non US bank or firm in order to manage both work and kids.
I am a woman with 2 kids and learning AI have multiple other skills ,developed AI POCs ..I want to switch but scared to do it as my whole management between personal and official life at present will be distributed
