Maybe he didn’t know. Though I will say they were a distraction, but good for recycle time.
It’s a slow system. He will only receive letters at certain times, and some days/nights he won’t have time to even read them. These places you’re writing to are not local to anything, and Army infrastructure isn’t Amazon. Going in and out of the field on 2 hours of sleep and no food has its impact on prioritizing mail distribution overall.
Send them, they’re a great morale boost. But have minimal expectation that they’ll be read, and even less expectation that you’ll get a response. Basically have no expectations for your SO going through ranger school period.
Rising Star
Sounds right, from what we used to hear over in the USMC School of Infantry Ranger School has basically no expectations, they’ll pin that tab on anyone.
Heeeey Army! Put on berets and follow me! We are Marine Corps infantry!
Yes you receive letters, but some times they are weeks late. You lose your sense of reality and time there...
So you would recommend sending letters?? Hoping they can give him a morale boost, he just started RAP week today
He will really appreciate them. I know I did.
Send letters. We got them, but a couple weeks latez
