I used to work at pwc in Atlanta. Moving to nyc on pwc salary will be tough but doable. Prepare to have many roommates
If 100k I would recommend 1 bedroom/shoebox studio in queens or Brooklyn, commute from jersey, be careful but the Bronx can be an “ok” area, or possibly live slightly upstate in Westchester County. 100k is doable without roommates, just budget well and prepare for close to 2k in rent or just over 2k.
I also moved from DC to New York last year and it was the best decision of my life. Manhattan is obviously way more expensive than DC but I would say it’s totally worth it. I am never bored, there are countless restaurant/bar options, and it’s just a beautiful city.
@C3 grew up in Westchester so similar boat haha
Good question! I’m in a similar boat. What’s the benefit of working in 1 city vs another especially if doing consulting and your team can be based anywhere?
For me, my fiancé was from NY. So we moved in together at NY.
