I think 1-3 and 9-12 are better. I think it’s hard to strategize in the middle as opposed to the ends. Usually the middle play the hand they’re dealt for the first few rounds
I like David Johnson or DHop at 5 and Nick Chubb or Juju in 2nd rd. RBs disappear quick and you can get good WRs in rounds 4/5 like Hilton and Woods
Why is 5 a crappy spot? I’m in a league where we can select slots and I’m considering choosing slot 5 (slots 1-4,6) are already taken. But still I’m thinking that could be a good slot over slots 7-12
If Zeke comes back early, 5 gets a bit of a boost since Zeke likely will go to the top 4 and cause someone to drop. Outside of that, the biggest thing is going to be preparing for different outcomes in the second since you're a bit reactionary to the other picks. Knowing your options from mock drafts and getting a feeling for how things turn out if you end up feeling forced into WR in round 2 or maybe drafting a later RB a bit early, etc..
I typically like to have a strong group of RBs, so my reason for liking the 5 spot is that I identified about 22 RBs that I’d be comfortable with having as my RB1/RB2..I felt the rest were probably better suited as flex. In the mock drafts I’ve done so far, sometimes 1-3 of these RBs make it back to the 10-12 draft slots in the third round, but more often than not, they’ve been taken by slots 7-8 in the third round. By drafting in the 5 slot, my thinking is that there are 3 opportunities to grab these top RBs, so you’re more flexible at each pick to take the best available RB/WR/TE while the 10-12 draft slots are kinda locked in since if they go RB/RB in the first two rounds, they could not be getting a great value if there are solid WRs still there, or if they go RB/WR or even WR/WR, they’ll likely be forced to grab their second RBs at a time where I feel the RBs are better suited as flex players
Pickup DeAndre Hopkins. He'll be available then 2 RBs then a TE preferably Kelce or Kittle and then DeShaun Watson to coordinate with Hopkins.
You're right. I should've said 1 RB or WR
