In my experience, HR is not your friend in a situation like this:
Our team was added to an established, cliquey team and the dynamics are bad and even toxic. It’s bad enough that a stellar teammate is done and has asked to be moved onto another team. I would like that also, in all honesty.
No matter what, if I pile on, I risk retaliation, right? In this market, mighty tough to find another job. what to do?

I’d suggest looking for a new opportunity internally. Run to something versus away from it. Do some internal networking to see what might exist and try to get shifted onto something that aligns with your skills or interests. ideally you’d be able to make a case for a shift for some reason other than the toxic nature of the team, agree that can be really hard to get anywhere with.

HR protects the company not the people. They are not your friend, ever.

Interviewed for 2 jobs I am highly interested in. One offered the job already, but the other one hasn’t made a decision yet but should this week. I have until tomorrow to accept the offer but would like to work for the other company if the compensation package is better. Any advice? I don’t want to accept and then have to cancel, but there’s no guarantee the other job will hire me either. 😩
