Is anyone worried about AI impacts in education, beyond the obvious chatgpt? Do you think there's any chance it could replace educators themselves, etc?

Read “The Fun They Had” by Isaac Asimov. Short, short story about technology taking over teaching. It can also serve as a good discussion springboard since most kids went through some form of distance learning with covid.

I just read this story and I LOVED it!! Just sent it to my fellow faculty...👍 What a conversation starter for the next faculty meeting...🤣

Bring it in for Open House and Parent-teacher conferences and see how AI manages.

I’d love to use AI only for these things so I don’t have to deal with parents 😂😂😂

No, but ai grading systems for standardized tests are bias to native English speakers. They mark papers down based on grammar and not ideas. So a student who has good grammar but less innovative ideas will be graded better than say an EL student who’s context is better but the grammar is off

Lol no, I don't think it's anywhere near ready to replace educators. Being a teacher is about way more than just relaying information.

No. AI can only interpolate from a given set of data or input. It can’t extrapolate or originate.

I think it could be used to mine our work/product to create materials.

I’m convinced I can use it to make my job easier… @Michigan, maybe I can mine my own work to make materials. 🤔

No! AI will not replace teachers, but it might enhance the student’s learning experience?

I don’t want things to go “back to normal,” and lately I’ve been reading what feels like a lot of disingenuous arguments for reopening “for people’s mental health.” As someone who was suffering from the way things were before and is now thriving from the slowdown (both in work and personal life), I wish we could all stop pretending like we were living in some mental health utopia before the shut down.

Hi Fishies. Im 31 yrs old, spouse 33 yrs old. We are going with IVF due to male factor. Today we got PGT results from CCRM Boston. Among 7 embryos, 5 came normal. 1- 5AA(male), 1-5AA(female),1-4BB(tier2,female),1-4AA(tier1,female), 1-4AA(tier 1, male). What is the best embryo among them? This is my first IVF. And little nervous as well. What could be the reasons if the embryo is not implanted ? Is it something with to do with me? Do we need to do anything from our side, like acupuncture ?
