no - general rule is that internal raises are garbage. game has changed significantly. it is called the loyalty tax for a reason.
It’s not always the greatest but at least you get one every year. I’d stay until a year or two in your senior role so you’ll have more leverage when you move to industry
So you’re going to hop when you’re up for senior and hop again when you’re up for manager? Stupid move.
Without knowing where you work how do you honestly expect anyone to answer that question? At places I’ve worked I’ve seen most get 15-25%.
Best advice do not make a rash decision and consider all options and stop getting ahead of yourself. Stay where you are at, get promoted if it’s happening soon, and see what the raise is. If you want to test the market after that the five it a try. But most places are not going to pay a premium for a newly promoted senior like they were during Covid.
Stay with your current firm, but quietly look at what else is out there. I’m not saying you should stay forever, but a lot of hopping isn’t ideal. Make a few meaningful changes when the numbers are there.
I would also consider the network you’re leaving. If you have good partners, SMs, and managers who support you, that’s also worth something. No guarantee you’ll get it at a different firm.
If you'd prefer to stay with your firm, that's your answer. You might make more by moving on, but in this job market that may not be assured. A lot of experienced people have been laid off and are looking for work, and jumping into the job market with two years under your belt may be unwise.
