Law firm marketer here. December collections on bills to round out the year's finances mean many law firms' finance departments are working right up until the last minute on December 31 and can't afford to close the firm. Work may slow down and attorneys may take time off, as do some staff, but the firm can't afford to close down for a big stretch. We get Dec 25 and 26 off and Jan 1, and that's it. I put in for PTO on Dec 22-24, but am back at work on Dec 29. We have a partner promotion to announce on Jan 2 across media/social media, and a the firm's biggest annual event in Jan to finish coordinating and the budget to finalize (and have an RFP that is due on Friday which means I am squeezed foe time to do other things). So it's frantic for me this week and I have to hit the ground running again on Dec. 29.

Just reading that sounds stressful, I’m so sorry. Glad you were able to take some time off though, and hopefully you get a nice break in the new year.
We had a huge push end of Nov., and into Dec., so we could take a breather end of the month. At the point now, we all need that break.

Same here! We’ve been working around the clock to be able to unplug. I’ve never been more excited to be off
Company not closed but usually it’s slower. My boss is nuts though & has had us work on “urgent” things
in previous years that ended up not getting used.
