$5M
Multiply whatever you want to spend annually by 25 and that’s your number. Multiply by 30 if you want to be more conservative. Take into an account a 20% tax rate so multiply that figure by 1.2
E.g.
$200k x 25 = $5M x 1.2 = $6M
It depends
Coach
Highly dependent on location, family size, standard of living, housing expenses, etc.
Could be anywhere from $2M to $8M+.
At 40, annual expenses times 40-45
I can do it with 3M , realistically, 5M
The 25 rule only works for 30 years so keep that in mind if retiring at 40
Aiming for $5-7M, living off $250-350k dividends a year for me and my spouse & 2 kids.
3 to 4 (roughly)
No kids, i could do it on $3M
Annual expenses X 25
$2.5m
Assuming you may have kids entering college soon, $3M plus whatever you need for college
Two types of people, I’m the type that never has enough. Set a target, reach it, love the goalposts. I know I could comfortable retire today, just can’t pull the trigger. Like what I do so a non-issue, but part of me wishes I had the exit mindset.

You're about 90% of the demographic that has the means to do so. And most will keep moving those goal posts. Unfortunate ☹️
