It is so rude and unprofessional for companies to lie. It's fine tell me I wasn't selected. Don't send someone an email that another person was selected and keep posting the job for weeks! Kind of makes me glad however, that a company a company that deceptive didn't hire me. No telling what I would find once employed!!

This happens all the time. It makes me believe the whole "ghost job" thing really might be real, where companies post roles they have no intention of hiring for. Why anyone would do that is beyond me, talk about a waste of time!

Am with you! Posting roles they have no intention of hiring for, conducting fake interviews, etc. is a disrespectful waste of a job seeker's time. Insulting!

That's a good point, that kind of dishonesty is a definite red flag, and you may have dodged what would have been an unpleasant experience. Some companies have kind of a standard form letter they'll send out, so it could be just laziness that they told you what they did. But it is strange that they'd say the job was filled while they're still posting it. No matter how that's explained, it's not great.

I agree. I mean, we are all adults. I do think we can all take criticism even if it's just that we are going in a different direction, so we didn't hire you. It's the not knowing that is annoying.

I have seen this happen many times and it alway made me wonder if they were even hiring for the role to begin with. It just seems like if you were really looking for someone you wouldn't keep posting the ad week after week.

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?
