If i join a deloitte competitor, do i get fired immediately? Do i still get my PTO paid out? I care less about the first part

What would you do? I was recently reached out to by an exec I worked for at another agency. He’s at a new agency and looking for an EA to assist him, the new president and another exec. However the agency itself is not doing well- no new biz wins, big layoffs recently, terrible reviews on Glassdoor. I like my current agency enough, however, very much don’t like the 2 execs I assist. Would you go rather work for good execs at a bad agency? Or stay at a decent agency but awful execs?

Anyone have a sense of why Deloitte got hit so hard by layoffs? I’ve heard four potential reasons:
1. Client mix / type of work
2. Leverage
3. Over hired in anticipation of growth
4. Partners didn’t want to take a haircut

Just curious! From an external perspective, seems like they cut way more than the other firms.

...no email was sent. So, now 1,000 employees are going to bed tonight confused and irritated AF.

Do you think it is quite possible to get fired by asking too many questions as an experienced senior 1? If so, i might get fired after this busy season.

In today’s client meeting there were at least 5 times that I was imaging the following:
1. Interrupt the clients and say “shut up, that is the most stupid thing I’ve heard of”
2. Tell the clients in their face “you’re fired”
3. And tell the partner “Sorry, I quit”

But instead, I smelled and said “that is an interesting idea. Let us think about it and come back to you”

I was laid off in June. Most consulting companies are on a hiring freeze that I’ve talked to. It’s pretty hard on my psyche to not get down on myself. I worked so hard to get to Deloitte and now it feels like I’m starting over. It’s tough. Any advice on companies that are hiring? I only want to go if it is a fit not just anywhere you know. Thanks.

Just took this BCG Quant Reasoning test and I think I messed it up. Some of the units are so confusing. Is nearest 000s of pounds 23000 or 23? They don’t partial mark it and the whole test was filled with this sort of thing. Oh well

How do you handle a rude recruiter? I had a recruiter ask my salary expectations, and when given I was told I was asking too much (I was in line with my current role and competitive salary in NYC,) and I shouldn’t ask for that because “I just don’t have that much to offer.”

I have an L3 Finance written offer from Google. TC $146k in Austin. It is a slight hit in my cash comp compared to my current role. Overall getting a 15% bump in terms of TC. I have tried my best to negotiate and at least match my current cash comp but doesn't look like there's a way they can meet it. My thought is to push for L4 in near term to get a good bump once I get in. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I was hired at A2 in PwC AC Bangalore and it's been an year. I heard they give default 3 rating to 1st year A2, so, what percentage hike on salary can we expect on 3 rating given Deloitte gave 30+ hike for similar profile?
