I hit the character limit: I'm worried whether I have the right personality for being a QA manager.
Empathetic and relatable manager (or so I've been told) here. You need to be able to advocate for your team, and being able to hold another department accountable is an important skill for any manager. Having said that, there are ways to do this diplomatically in a way that hopefully meets in the middle, with a compromise. You can accomplish this without being confrontational, while also having your team's back. I don't think there are certain personality types that are able to be QA managers specifically, but I do think you do need to have certain personnel skills to be a successful manager.
