I've been spending hours crafting unique cover letters for each application, but I'm starting to wonder if they're even worth it. Has anyone here actually gotten a job where you felt your cover letter made a difference?

Really, how about using AI writing the letter lol?

Incredibly hard to say what the deciding factor is in getting a job. I do take time to personalize each cover letter and resume, but the core of it stays about the same.

I can't imagine how writing a cover letter could take hours. Just write a basic letter and do some edits and revisions as necessary. Remember, a cover letter is not supposed to be your life story, it's just a chance to highlight things about your career that may not be obvious from the bare bones style of a resume. If you can show some personality in it, all the better. Think of it this way, if candidates all have similar resumes, the person with the engaging cover letter will stand out.

I’ve never used them. If you want run them through AI. Most jobs are using AI to filter might as well have them AI proofed to help push them through

I'm an Indian holding bachelor's degree in electrical and electronics engineering from India and master of international marketing degree from a United States. Overall, I have 7+ years of work experience in sales and marketing. IELTS 6.5 now I wish to migrate into Canada with the PR. Since lot of candidates are in the pool, sadly it would take me nearly 12 to 18 months to get my Canadian PR. Can some one give me leads of job opening which is available back there in Canada to start my career.

I am writing this message besides the staff group of EY GDS. Specifically Staff -1 at assurance level. I would request everyone to spare few minutes and read it -

Wanted to bring out that staff-1's are paid peanuts (3.33L CTC) please don't expect them to slog 12-13 hours. They don't have enough motivation or incentives to work that long. Seniors,AM's and Managers should be more kind and explain the work to them clearly rather than making last minute changes.

Travel and TTC combo haven’t worked. After 6 months, the only offer I got included 4 weeks paid and FLMA only after 1 year. So 1) go and risk laughable benefits or 2) stay but risk TTC. So shitty 😭
