I’ve been submitting my résumé as a clean, single-column PDF exported from Word. I’ve always heard PDFs work well with ATS and common systems like workday, but some people say .docx is safer for parsing. I always thought PDFs are safer bc the formatting can’t get messed up like a word of can. Now I’m wondering if using PDF could be hurting my chances or causing issues in certain systems. Can you clarify whether PDFs are still reliable for ATS, or if I should start submitting .docx instead?

Always pdf’s! .docx can get too jammed up with formatting issues.

I'm working at a startup where I feel like I've spent as much time trying to deal with product issues vs working on roadmap items. I get this is bound to happen in a start up but is this common? I'm not sure what to do. It seems like no one really thought about the architecture or ux as much as they should have in my opinion. I need some advice.

Omnistudio - may you get built in to Salesforce core. Hate how I have to install a package every release, test it, and when there is a break fix that cycle repeats. This is on top of those freaking data that drives functionalities (omniscripts, flex, IP) are all records and tough to sync to non-full copy. Salesforce needs to kill that product or get those into the core! What’s your take on this? This is for friendly conversation

Has a partner ever come back and asked you why you spent so much time on certain things? Im a first year and this hasn’t happened to me at my firm and they tell us not to cut our own time, but my first firm (short stint, small firm) did this to me allll the time and made me feel guilty — so just curious if this has happened to anyone in big law.
