I’ve been trading options for a few years now, and I still don’t get why more people don’t explore weekly options. Yes, they’re high risk—no denying that—but when you’ve got a tight setup and manage your risk, the returns can be wild. Last month, I hit a 210% gain on a TSLA weekly that played out in two hours. But I’ve also had some go to zero just as fast. I treat them like a scalpel, not a sledgehammer. What’s your take—are weekly options a smart, strategic tool, or are they just glorified gambling?

I’m seeing lots of posts about really bad losses. If you trade you’re going to lose money - hopefully not all the time, but many positions will be mistakes. But you need a process to find ideas and manage positions. Two books you should read are “The New Trading for a Livinng” and “The Laws of Trading.” Both look at psychology, process, and risk in different ways that can help you work out your own process. The next 18 months will be much harder than the last 18 - time to start learning.

I started trading during Covid crash. Started with equities and eventually moved to options. Earlier lost a month's salary and then lot more trying to recover it. Currently have lost my yearly salary worth and it's affecting all aspects of my life (job, marriage, health). I have tried to convince myself to consider it a loss but always get back trying to recover it.

Any advice how to deal with it. Thanks.
