I've got 15 years in sales - enterprise, SaaS, and recruiting. The writing's on the wall at my current job, though. A recruiter I know swears sales jobs are still plentiful even with how rough things are right now. I think it sounds too optimistic. What are you all experiencing?

I'd be skeptical of what the recruiter is saying, but that's always been my attitude toward recruiters. Some of them talk a great game but don't deliver. I haven't heard about plentiful jobs, but I think it's possible there are some positions available for good performers. That's always the case.

I'm getting a lot of phone screenings, but not a lot of interviews and zero offers right now. I'm sure there are sales jobs out there, but I'm certainly not finding them, and I wouldn't say that the job market is very positive right now.

It might not feel like it, but solid salespeople are still getting hired. The market’s tighter, yes, but leadership teams always need people who can move the needle. Your background is strong enough to stand out.

I have been applying for jobs for about 8 months now and can't seem to find anything. The job market in general is rough. It seems like there are lots of jobs on the job boards but I don't know if they are actually hiring for these roles.

Same thing. I left my last company Oct of last year. I have been doing sales since I was 23 years old. I’m not making it past the recruiter most of the time. I don’t have a degree though. I could never even finish my associates because of the hours they had me work. I’m studying to get my insurance license. Hopefully something extra will help me pivot to other sales roles. I can’t afford to go to school in the meantime. Most of the jobs want open availability. I had a few tell me there was nothing wrong but they only had one position. That person decided they couldn’t retire right now. Another had me show up for the interview but said he may be hiring in the future but isn’t right now. The recruiter didn’t tell me this. My savings are all gone and I can’t do standing positions. Too much pain. I should have waited it out and not left my other employer yet without something lined up. Usually sales jobs are everywhere.

I prepared my speech, well dressed up but when hosts announce the name of judges I felt bad... he could have atleast informed me... everytime he does the same kind of thing and than says in corporate sector types of politics happens...

Can folks here advise me on what would be a good app to use to create a personal kanan board sort of thing? I essentially want to keep track of various tasks I need to do for a variety of different goals. I keep thinking the tasks board we have in Teams channels would be good if only I had that for personal use.

Really appreciate all inputs. Would like to spend as little money as possible.

I have worked with Forbes top companies, for-profits, non-profits, & startups. I consider myself a solver of complex & complicated problems requiring mixed method research & novel solutions. This has led to issues in self-referencing title. I’ve been project manager, data engineer, developer, modeler, analysts, principle DB developer, etc. Most of my w2 work has been from offers of 1099 clients so I am usually asked to define my own title. Any T-shaped data people who run into this?
